This opinion seems unpopular to me from what I’ve read so far- most people seemed to think the debut was underwhelming, which I disagree with. I really just want to hear them belting during that bridge 😅 They’ve only debuted now so it’s understandable even if they don’t go that way. I do wish they would sing live instead of having prerecorded vocals for some of the stages in the coming weeks. We’ll have to wait to see what kind of music SM will give them, I wonder if they might have constant concept changes like RV (seems unlikely at this point though). Their concept is like a cross between futuristic, girl crush and fantasy/elegant. I know that people have been comparing them to Blackpink and Itzy but honestly, I don’t really see it so far. Giselle’s part, even though it was short was also very refreshing since the other girls seem to have higher voices. The chorus is so addicting, and the bridge was heavenly. Ningning’s voice truly elevated it for me. Initially, I wasn’t a huge fan of the song but it’s really grown on me after the first few listens. The production is phenomenal and so are the girls’ voices, it really suits them. I think Aespa’s Black Mamba is a great song, not just for a debut but when it comes to Kpop in general.
